Methodics News

Welcome to Our Q3 2019 Newsletter!

So far, 2019 has been a really busy and exciting year for Methodics and there’s still a lot ahead!  This includes our upcoming Methodics Users Group Meeting in San Jose on September 24 and 25.  If you’re a current user and would like to attend, there’s still time to sign-up.  You can get the details here.

Returning from a very successful DAC as a Silver Sponsor in June, we continue to add new capabilities to our products and new customers to the Methodics family.  The most recent announcement is that Acacia Communications selected our solution for their mixed-signal IP Lifecycle Management (IPLM) needs.  Some of their key evaluation criteria was to enable worldwide collaboration and to provide scalability across their various sites.  You can
read the full announcement here.

On the product front, we’ve been very active in leading the way with our IPLM solution, Percipient, in the areas of enterprise traceability, Functional Safety compliance, IP Security Assurance, advanced workflow automation, and more.

For example, we are members of the industry-wide Accellera IP Security Assurance Working Group where we helped co-author a newly proposed methodology, working side-by-side with committee members including Intel, Synopsys, Cadence, Qualcomm, NXP Semiconductors, nVidia, and others.  The details of the proposed methodology are available to review in the just-published Accellera whitepaper here.

In the area of Functional Safety, we held a recent webinar in conjunction with Automotive IQ titled “Achieving a Traceable Semiconductor Design and IP Methodology for ISO26262 Compliance” which can now be viewed on demand.  We also released two new whitepapers covering the importance of Tool and Process Certification for Functional Safety and Advanced Workflow Automation. Automated workflows help IP designers ensure adherence to best practices, quality standards, and alignment with company policies, including Functional Safety compliance if required.

In the area of engineering infrastructure, we just held a webinar with the good folks at SemiWiki titled “Lightspeed Data Sync – Design Workspace Problems Solved!” that can be viewed on demand here, and we released a new white paper titled “Creating a Seamless Cloudburst
Environment for Verification”
that was presented to a large audience in the Design Infrastructure Alley at DAC.  You can download that whitepaper here.

And finally, we still have a number of shows and events where you can find us later this year.  Please check the schedule below.  We hope to see you at one of those events!

White Paper: Advanced Workflow Automation

A workflow is any well-defined sequence of procedures that prescribe rules on how a product should be designed, built, tested and deployed.  Workflows help IP designers follow a process of developing IP that ensures adherence to best practices, quality standards, and alignment with company policies regarding the development lifecycle, including Functional Safety compliance if required.

This whitepaper details best practices for developing advanced workflows and provides an example utilizing the Flowable open-source workflow engine for developing and managing workflows.
